About Filomena & The Flourishing Entrepreneur
About Filomena & The Flourishing Entrepreneur
The Flourishing Entrepreneur is a psychology and coaching hub for entrepreneurs, professionals and their partners who are living busy, demanding lives. The focus is on helping clients navigate stress, workplace and business pressures, relationship concerns and major life transitions in ways that feel more sustainable and aligned with their values. Filomena offers trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQ+ inclusive psychological care within her scope of practice and current training.
Sessions are provided by Filomena Bruno, a registered psychologist who integrates counselling, coaching and couples work. Her approach is evidence informed, reflective and practical, with an emphasis on small, workable changes that fit each person’s context rather than one-size-fits-all solutions.
Most appointments are offered via secure telehealth, with limited face to face options as available. Whether a client is seeking space to think more clearly about work and leadership, to care for their mental health, or to strengthen their relationships, Filomena works collaboratively with them to clarify their goals and decide together what may be most helpful.

Filomena is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA). She has over 30 years of experience, working mostly in private practice, with additional experience in private and government sectors, supporting adult clients from a range of backgrounds and cultures.
In the last decade, she has worked primarily with busy company executives and other professionals, including business owners. Filomena provides coaching & counselling and services as a registered psychologist in private practice.
She also works under her registered business name MIND UR BIZNESS. The practice and website have evolved over time, previously known as Mena B Global (menabglobal.com) and The Better Living Centre, and are now offered through this site, The Flourishing Entrepreneur, at mindurbizness.com.
Her work focuses on:
-
workplace and business pressures
-
major life transitions and adjustments
-
the realities of entrepreneurial life
-
stress and burnout
-
relationship and communication concerns
Over the last decade, her approach has increasingly drawn on evidence informed coaching psychology methods, including elements of positive psychology, resilience and wellbeing, applied neuroscience, focussed psychological strategies and other best practice tools tailored to each client’s needs and goals.
Filomena works collaboratively with clients one to one and with groups. This can include corporate mental health and wellbeing training for teams, as well as personal growth programs for individuals and groups. Most services are delivered online, with some face to face options where appropriate.
Who Filomena works with and where
Filomena primarily works with:
-
adults (individuals)
-
couples
-
small groups or teams in workplace and business settings
She is registered as a psychologist in Australia and her services are provided under Australian law and professional standards.
Filomena generally works with clients who are located in Australia at the time of sessions. In some circumstances, she may also work with Australian citizens or residents who are temporarily living or travelling overseas, provided this is consistent with professional guidelines, local laws and her professional indemnity insurance.
Due to insurance restrictions, Filomena is not able to provide services to clients who are located in the United States or Canada at the time of session. If a potential client is unsure whether Filomena can see them based on their location, they are welcome to ask before booking.
How Filomena works
Filomena’s approach is:
-
Collaborative – she works together with clients to clarify what matters to them and what they are hoping for.
-
Evidence informed – she draws on established psychological and coaching approaches, adapted to each person’s circumstances.
-
Reflective and practical – there is space to understand patterns and history, and also to identify steps that can be taken in everyday life.
Her work may involve:
-
helping clients understand patterns in thoughts, feelings and behaviour
-
exploring how past experiences may be affecting the present
-
clarifying values, boundaries and priorities
-
learning and practising coping strategies or new responses
-
reflecting on progress and adjusting goals over time
Filomena aims to check in regularly about what is and is not helpful, and to support clients in making informed choices about their care. If a client’s needs fall outside Filomena’s scope of practice, or she believes they would be better supported by a different practitioner or service, she will discuss this with them and, where possible, provide suggestions or referrals.
Coaching, counselling and psychology
At MIND UR BIZNESS, coaching, counselling and psychology sessions all sit within the same ethical and professional framework, because they are provided by a Registered Psychologist.
Broadly:
-
Counselling / psychology sessions often focus on emotional distress, mental health concerns and the impact of life events. They may involve more therapeutic exploration of patterns and experiences over time.
-
Coaching and mentoring typically focus on personal and professional development, goal setting, business or career challenges, and accountability for agreed actions between sessions.
There can be overlap between these areas. Some clients move between more counselling-focused and more coaching-focused work as their needs change. Filomena discusses what clients are looking for and works with them to agree on the primary focus of their work together.
Service Agreement and informed consent
Before beginning ongoing work together, clients are asked to review and sign a Service Agreement.
This document explains:
-
the type of service being offered (for example, counselling, coaching, telehealth, couples work)
-
fees, rebates (where applicable) and cancellation arrangements
-
how client information is collected, stored and used
-
the legal and ethical limits of confidentiality
-
telehealth arrangements, if sessions are held online
Clients have an opportunity to read the agreement, ask questions and decide whether they wish to proceed before signing. Informed consent is an ongoing process, so clients are welcome to raise questions about the service at any time.
All services at Mindurbizness, including coaching and mentoring, are provided within this framework.
Confidentiality and its limits
What clients talk about in sessions is treated with care and respect. As a psychologist, Filomena is required to protect client privacy and keep information confidential, except in certain situations where she may be required or permitted by law or by professional standards to share information.
Situations where information may need to be shared can include, for example:
-
serious concerns about a client’s safety or the safety of someone else
-
concerns about abuse, neglect or exploitation
-
when information is required by a court or otherwise authorised by law
-
when sharing limited information is necessary to obtain professional supervision or advice, while protecting client identity as much as possible
The specific details are outlined in the Service Agreement and can be discussed with clients. Wherever possible, Filomena will talk with clients about any need to share information, unless doing so would increase risk.
If clients are attending couples sessions, Filomena will also discuss how information is handled when two people are attending together and what happens if one person contacts her separately.
Telehealth
Many services at Mindurbizness are offered via secure video telehealth.
Telehealth may be suitable for clients who:
-
live at a distance
-
have limited time to travel
-
prefer the comfort or privacy of their own space
Before starting telehealth, Filomena will discuss:
-
practical requirements (technology, internet connection, a private space, backup phone contact)
-
what to do if there are technical difficulties
-
how safety and confidentiality are managed when she and the client are not in the same room
-
any limits of telehealth that may be relevant to the client’s situation
Telehealth sessions are subject to the same ethical and confidentiality standards as in person sessions.
Telehealth is generally available to clients who are in Australia, and in some cases to Australian clients who are temporarily overseas. Filomena is not able to see clients who are located in the United States or Canada due to insurance restrictions.
Fees, cancellations and records
Fees, rebates and funded sessions
Current fees, the cancellation policy and information about possible rebates or funding options are outlined in the Service Agreement and can be discussed when clients enquire or book.
Depending on a client’s circumstances and the type of referral, some sessions may be eligible for:
-
Medicare rebates (with an appropriate referral and plan from a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician)
-
WorkCover or third party insurer funding for accepted claims, where psychological treatment has been approved
-
Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) funding where an appropriate DVA referral and approval are in place
-
Employer funded sessions, such as through an EAP equivalent like Unmind, where sessions are paid for by the employer
-
NDIS funding for eligible participants with a current NDIS plan that includes appropriate funding for psychology supports
Eligibility for rebates or funded sessions depends on a range of factors, including referral type, diagnosis or claim status, the conditions of the funding body and current legislation or policy. Filomena can provide general information about possible options, and clients may also need to confirm details with their GP, insurer, NDIS planner or employer.
Emergencies and crisis support
MIND UR BIZNESS is not a crisis or emergency service and may not be able to offer immediate or after-hours support.
If a person is in crisis, at imminent risk of harm, or needs urgent assistance, they are encouraged to contact:
-
emergency services in their area, and/or
-
a crisis support line such as Lifeline on 13 11 14 (in Australia), or another service relevant to their location
Clients are welcome to contact the practice to arrange a follow up appointment, but urgent safety concerns are best handled by services designed for immediate response.
